There are so many active people in Halifax making a difference and giving back to the community. Also, socially-minded local companies are always looking for ways to help make a difference. Enter, the 'Go Big Awards' - a platform for companies to help support local do-gooders by sponsoring a prize for nominated individuals/groups in the community are for making an impact. Each month, a sponsoring company gets a campaign page - to promote their product, the prize they are awarding, and where people can vote for their favourite local hero. At the end of the week the winner - by popular vote - is presented with a certificate and the prize from the sponsor. Each month features a heroism category (helping at-risk youth, environmental stewardship, caring for the elderly, community fitness, etc., etc., etc.) And all the awards will stay on the app to let users see all the previous winners and sponsors. What better way to encourage and reward community involvement and help local business get involved?
